The Tallinn branch of the world-renowned photography centre Fotografiska, which opened its doors in 2019, is located in a former machine and equipment industry building previously known as the Red House. Historically the building was part of the Main Workshops of the Baltic Railways and later of the M. I. Kalinin Electrotechnical Factory. Fotografiska uses the power of photographic art to connect society, create positive impact and draw attention to a range of issues. The concept of Fotografiska Tallinn includes an exhibition and event area, a cafe, a restaurant and a photography shop. The centre aims to be a meeting place where art, good food, music, design and an open mindset come together.
