This year’s Open House Tallinn visual identity showcases the playfulness of architecture

This year’s design was created by the boutique agency Poolpäev, who was also behind the design concept for last year’s festival.

According to Poolpäev’s graphic designer, Kairit Onno, gathering ideas usually begins for her a few weeks before creating the drafts: “While walking around the city, I notice more of the various buildings and their details. I linger to think about why a certain element or part of a building was designed exactly the way it is. Since this year’s festival theme was broader, it felt like a great opportunity to take a slightly more abstract and playful approach. The central element of the design became an impossible figure with staircases and openings, inviting the viewer to step into unknown spaces and experience architecture.”

In 2026, the open house weekend Open House Tallinn will take place from October 9th to 11th. With the help of volunteer guides, visitors can take a peek behind the doors of nearly 40 public buildings, sites under construction, and institutions. Open House Tallinn creates opportunities to visit locations that are usually closed to the public. This year, Open House Tallinn focuses on discovering architecture in diverse ways.
