Kalev Yacht Club is associated with a rich and layered architectural heritage. Approximately on the site of the current yacht club building once stood the Kalev Society House, designed by Karl Burman in the National Romantic style, which was destroyed during World War II. In its place, a new clubhouse was built in 1948, designed by Peeter Tarvas, continuing the spirit of functionalism.

In 2024, a new marina building was added to the complex, entering into architectural dialogue with the earlier clubhouse. Designed by Ülar Mark, the building was awarded the title of Concrete Building of the Year.

The new structure consists of two parts: the clubhouse and the boathouse (elling). Today, the marina building is home to the Kalev Yacht Club Sailing School, the office of the Estonian Yachting Union, and the North Sails sail workshop. Sails play a central visual role in the building’s appearance – the walls are not simply covered in plain grey concrete but are decorated using old sails donated by Kalev Yacht Club members, creating unique patterns and giving the building a distinctive character.
