In modern Tallinn, you can find a variety of garages: from excellent historical examples built in the first half of the 20th century to typical Soviet-era garage complexes. Some are still used as parking spaces or storage units, while others have been transformed into cozy workshops, hobby spaces, and successful businesses.
Join our tour to dive into the fascinating history of Tallinn’s garages and car culture! Together, we will discover how these modest structures have become an integral part of city life and how they’ve evolved over time.
The tour begins at the People’s Museum of Tallinn with the exhibition “Garaaž. Гараж. Garage.” and ends in the garage kitchen of the Kalamaja Museum.
The tours are led by: Karoli Loo, Denis Jatsenko
