Address:Raekoja plats 12, Tallinn
Architects:14-20th century
The building of the Tallinn Urban Planning Department’s Heritage Protection Department is a well-preserved example of a medieval merchant’s house. The two-story building, with older construction elements dating back to the 14th century, represents the diele-dornse layout. The Baroque-style facade facing Raekoja Square was renovated during 20th-century restoration works. On the Apteegi Street side, there is a late-Classical entrance door and Baroque wrought-iron anchors. Notable features of the building, such as the late 17th-century Baroque hall ceiling beam and painted ceiling beam, add historical value to the structure. Recent restoration work was carried out in 2015–2016, when the roof and facade of the house were refurbished.
